At Kiki Music Collective, we specialise in creating unforgettable live music experiences and behind the scenes, our dedicated team is led by my mum, Kirsty, affectionately known as "The Mumager." When she is not managing projects in her busy Business Management and HR world, she remains committed to excellence and has kindly taken courses and gained qualifications to enhance her skills in sound and lighting engineering, all to support her number one daughter - her only daughter, in fact! Despite having no background in music the Mumager took the opportunity to learn new skills and grow; adaptability is key!

Transferring her skills from her other roles and working with us as musicians is how our team truly shines. Guided by her true leadership, we remain calm, quickly assess the situation, set up the equipment, and conduct a sound check, all while reassuring the wedding planner, venue staff, and most importantly, the event hosts that everything is under control.

The Journey of Live Sound and Lighting Engineering

We pride ourselves on our professional lighting and sound setup. We use high-quality professional PA and associated sound equipment, all with high output capabilities to prioritise exceptional sound quality to elevate your event. Our professional audio setup features top-of-the-line speakers, mixers, and microphones, ensuring that every note and nuance is crystal clear.  By carefully balancing the levels of vocals and instruments, we ensure that each performance resonates beautifully, drawing your audience into the heart of the music. Whether it's a soft ballad or an upbeat dance track, our sound design enhances the overall impact of the event, making it unforgettable for everyone in attendance.

Visually we have an impressive array of versatile lights, including moving heads, sound-activated LED strips, uplighters, and much more. This allows us to create the perfect atmosphere for any event. and enhances the performance creating a more immersive experience for your guests. Lighting can also be used to create a specific mood or atmosphere, highlighting certain parts of the stage and room to enhance the overall visual impact of the event. â€‹

Showtime: A Dynamic Environment

Every event is unique, and sound and lighting varies significantly from one night to the next. Each venue presents its own set of challenges and we must think on our feet, adjusting not only volume and lighting levels but also shaping the sound using equalisation and effects to suit every instrument and the overall mix. It’s crucial that we work seamlessly with each other  and venue staff to ensure the event runs smoothly for the event hosts and their guests.

A Special Dance: A Magical Moment

The moment has arrived and as the show begins, we monitor the sound to guarantee that the band can hear their instruments through in-ear monitors, allowing them to deliver their best performance. At the same time, we work to provide the audience with an exceptional audio experience alongside the visual impact of the moment through the lighting.

Encore: Leaving Them Wanting More

As the crowd cheers for “one more song,” we know it’s time to deliver an unforgettable finale.

After the last performance, it’s a real responsibility to carefully pack down the stage, ensuring every cable is neatly wrapped and all equipment is packed into the van and then unpacked, stored away for the next event.

This is also a time for reflection - sharing an analysis with the band about our performance, reviewing photos and videos, and discussing any tweaks to improve our sound for future shows.

Our ultimate goal is to create the best possible environment for both the team and the incredible audiences we entertain.
